We have concerns with these issues:
Chairman Bobby Orman pulled $6/hr. premium pay for deputies.
- Department has lost 3 deputies since.
- The premium pay should have never been taken from the deputies. Our job is to support our brave law enforcement as they keep our county safe.
- We want to create an environment and local government that makes Shelby County a desirable place to work in law enforcement.
- We have lost too many good people with valuable experience. That has to stop.
Our deputies deserve fair pay.

We MUST protect our law enforcement, both physically and financially so that they can worry about keeping our county safe, not whether they have support from the board and the State’s Attorney’s office. Our deputies deserve to know that the county board stands behind them.
