Christine Matlock - District 8

I grew up and raised a family in Shelby County. I am a registered nurse. I have been around farming and agriculture all of my life, and am very interested in sustainable family owned farms. That simple rural life has always suited me. I am most comfortable in a pair of jeans and boots. I love learning about farming and hunting. My favorite days are spent around a fire with my family listening to critters and looking at the stars.

Reestablishing trust in our county and its leaders is important to me. Returning to a simpler way of life when a man or woman's handshake meant something to them and that their word was their reputation; they took it seriously. We need a group of people that are committed to helping one another do well in all areas of their lives. 

We have built that trust before and we can do it again. Along with this group of people, I believe that we can build a county and future that our children and grandchildren will see as an example. Our ancestors protected our home, made us proud of it, and I want to inspire that same sense of pride in community that will carry through the next generation of Shelby County citizens.
