Gene Price - District 9

I'm a proud Shelbyville native, born and raised right here in this wonderful community. While life took me away from Shelbyville for a while, I found my heart was always in this community and this county. I made a decision to come back home and make a difference in the place I love so dearly. 

I live in Shelby County with my wife and two of our three children. Family means everything to me, and it's one of the reasons I'm so passionate about improving our county for future generations. Our oldest son also lives in Shelby County, along with our grandchildren, so we're deeply rooted here.

For 40 years I've worked as an auctioneer, and in the livestock business. Those experiences along with my time on the Christian County Board and City Council of Pana have given me a unique perspective on our local economy and the needs of our communities. I know what it takes to serve in local government and I'm not afraid to speak up and be a voice for our citizens.

With this group of people, I believe we can restore the faith and pride in our county -- so that we are known for our tight knit community and values that hold us together, not tear us apart. I want our children and grandchildren to grow up in a place they are proud to call home, where they will have every opportunity to succeed. That's why I'm running for the Shelby County Board -- because I believe I can make a difference. With your support, we can make this a great place to live, work, visit, and raise a family.
