- Once again failed to plant crop for second season because board appointed SA said the farm was a “cemetery.”
- Lost revenue from the crop. Failed to maintain trust with contracted farmer.
We believe we can farm the county farm. HB 1076 the Farm Bill clarifies that legal right, and we intend to exercise that right to plant and harvest crops to support our county. Farm revenue reduces the burden on taxpayers. We should not let our ground go fallow.
It is a legacy farm. It needs to be farmed to benefit the taxpayers.

Our county farm is part of our local heritage. It served our county’s poor and indigent at a time when there was no social safety net to catch them. Now, it can more broadly serve the county, and stand as a testament to our commitment to each other.
