We are sick of partisan politics, aren’t you, Shelby County? The kind of politics in Washington D.C. is not the kind we want in our backyard. We are Shelby County United, a bipartisan group of like-minded citizens that has seen enough of the local bitterness and acrimony for a lifetime. We do not care what letter is next to your name, but we do care about the person that lives next door to us. In a small county like ours, everyone is our neighbor, and we don’t treat our neighbors poorly to make us feel stronger. We look out for our neighbors.
We pledge to you that our political ideologies will never matter more to us than serving our county and constituents. This is our home. It is your home too. We intend to remind outsiders we can take care of our own. We want to empower you, the citizens of Shelby County. Together we can repair our county’s broken trust and remind everyone why this county we have loved enough to put our roots down is a special place to us all. It is a place we must tend to so that when we give its caretaking to our children and grandchildren’s generation, they understand the importance of service. We want to show them how to maintain what our ancestors built so that they may do the same for their children and grandchildren. We need your help and your vote to do so.
We would appreciate your support and your vote on Nov. 5th!

The premium pay should have never been taken from the deputies. Our job is to support our brave law enforcement as they keep our county safe. We want to create an environment and local government that makes Shelby County a desirable place to work in law enforcement. We have lost too many good people with valuable experience. That has to stop.
Sonny Ross unilaterally decided to stand down the dive team for questionable reasons.
The entire team resigned when Ross refused to step down from his committee and Orman would not remove him. Trust had been broken.

We promise to work with our brave first responders to empower them to do the vital lifesaving work they generously volunteer to do. Whether it is with the City of Shelbyville or bringing the team back to the county, we will do what it takes to get our divers back in the water where they belong. Our citizens and our visitors deserve to know that they are safe on our county's roads and waterways.

We believe we can farm the county farm. HB 1076 the Farm Bill clarifies that legal right, and we intend to exercise that right to plant and harvest crops to support our county. Farm revenue reduces the burden on taxpayers. We should not let our ground go fallow. Our farm is a critical part of our local heritage. We should preserve its history and use the land to serve our county.
At a time of high CD rates, the ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funds were in saving's accounts earning less than 1% interest until July 2023.

Failing to spend the American Rescue Plan Act Funds ($4.2 million) would be a catastrophic fiscal mistake. We need to plan and execute projects in a timely fashion.
Pinching pennies while allowing someone's political friends to bloat their budgets will not happen on our watch.
